Will there be a Tropico 5?
Posted on February 28, 2013 at 4:00 pm
Okay so there have been 4 Tropico games so far, and it will be surprising if there wasn’t a 5th in the near future, and if anything this island game has only improved over time. There’s nothing quite like the feel of being in control of your own island, and with each game there has been more flexibility in terms of gameplay.
The idea hasn’t changed though, and that’s what’s made this gaming franchise so popular. If you managed to stay in control of your island then you’re essentially winning but you have to keep your people happy and there are many tough decisions to make along the way. It looks likely that there will be a fifth game and it would be good to see more decisions, more people to control and improved graphics.

The Swapper – Set for Release in May
Posted on February 24, 2013 at 4:02 pm
The swapper is set to be quite a bizarre game and it goes back to the 2D style of Gaming. You essentially control a hero who creates duplicate of himself to explore and discover life in space. The game is not set to be for those who look action shooters, and it’s quite simply a puzzle game with visually stunning surroundings and a beautiful atmosphere.
You don’t get a real sense of who the main character is, and he is simply an astronaut, while he does actually carry a gun, though it’s not the kind that will excite hard core action gamers. It may be a 2D game but it’s nothing like Super Mario Bros, and the puzzles will certainly have you stuck form time to time.
It’s a game that is designed to make you think, and at times you may well feel a little bit frustrated but that’s what all good puzzle games do. This game is looking like it will be released in May and it’s one that all space and puzzle lovers should get.

Arcade Racer on the Wii
Posted on February 14, 2013 at 4:00 pm
There are not a great deal of racing games on the Wii and Mario Kart tends to be the most popular. That’s all about to change though and there are talk of an retro Arcade racer game. This is likely to be a game that provides gamers that arcade racing experience, and it may not benefits from jaw dropping graphics; but that’s not necessary on the Wii, and people only need to feel a sense of speed
It’s like stepping back into time and retro racing, and it would be really good if you’re able to choose between a selection of classic cars and formula racing cars. Arcade racer games can be enjoyed solo or multiplayer, while the selection of tracks can test your handling, braking and cornering.
This is a game that is suitable for all ages, and it will be quite refreshing to see an old school racing game on the Wii for a change.

Saints Row IV
Posted on February 12, 2013 at 4:02 pm
Years ago Saints Row was often compared to Grand Theft Auto but with the latest release it’s clear to see that they wanted to go in a different direction. The game is more about comedy and action, rather than a serious compelling storyline, which you’ll see on Grand Theft Auto.
There’s no doubt that Saints Row IV attracted a great deal of interest when it was released, but it certainly had people baffled when they turned to see the back cover. There are superpowers and aliens, while the previous version was merely about the life of a street gangster. You’re no longer battling the criminals in the city on this game, and you will find yourself trying to fight humanity as a whole.
Some would argue that Saints Row just went a little off track but it’s certainly worth a play if you haven’t already, and prices for this game have come down considerably.

Super Street Fighter IV on the 3DS
Posted on February 10, 2013 at 4:02 pm
There are many titles out there on the Nintendo 3DS today but one game that should not be overlooked is Super Street Fighter IV. This game is as ferocious as it was back in the day, and all of your favourite characters are on there.
The game just looks that little bit more beautiful in 3D but it still has the same classic qualities that made Street Fighter such a big hit. It’s still the type of game that you really have to master before you can defeat the mot difficult competitors, but once you find your winning formula, you’re guaranteed success. This 3D edition gives you the chance to master the touch screen and the controls, while it’s the perfect game to have in your pocket when you find yourself bored with some time to kill.
The only problem is that you just won’t want to put it down.

Assassin’s Creed 3
Posted on February 10, 2013 at 4:00 pm
The latest release in the Assassin’s Creed game franchise has received great reviews by many. It follows the same theme as the previous versions of the game, with the focus placed on even harder assassination missions.
For those unfamiliar with an Assassin’s Creed game, the game play revolves around you, an assassin, and your missions. The goal of the game is to accomplish these missions without dying, but unlike typical games, you can be easily killed. So the main focus you should have during your gaming is on being unnoticed. You can of course fight guards who notice you, or you can try to run away and find a hiding space. You can also run up walls and jump off buildings, which can be quite fun.
The first game initially takes place with you as Desmond, the descendant of the Assassins guild. By being connected to an Animus, you begin to experience your ancestral past through your ancestors eyes. Most of the game takes place in this way, with you at some point in history.

Xbox Kinect
Posted on February 8, 2013 at 4:02 pm
The Xbox Kinect is a great way to play a number of XBox 360 games, and it will also be available for the upcoming Xbox console. Starting with it now can allow you to become more accustomed to it for when the new console is released, where it is set to play a larger role than it has over the last couple of years.
Kinect was released in an attempt by Microsoft to be able to target a wider audience than its current gamer fans. Just like with the Nintendo Wii, the intent behind its inclusion into the Xbox platform was to be able to appeal to people who perhaps aren’t quite so into games, and are more interested in gaining some entertainment value from their console. By being able to up the activity level for the games on its platform, it can begin to disassociate itself with its current image, and start appealing to a wider audience.
