Space Invaders
Posted on January 31, 2013 at 4:00 pm
If you ever get tired of playing games which seem to be continuously focussing on improving the graphics and world building, and you just want a game which offers a solid gaming experience, which can also get the blood pumping, playing Space Invaders may be just what you’re looking for.
Space Invaders was a title first released on the first games console, the Atari 2600, but it has also been re-released on various arcade games, which is probably where you are most familiar with the game. Following its release in the seventies, a large number of people started playing the game competitively, trying to get the world record for points with the game.
In the game, you basically play a gun turret which can move from side to side. By shooting at long columns of descending space invaders, you can begin to whittle your enemy down. For every enemy you successfully destroy, you gain points. Every time you defeat all of the enemies you advance to the level, where the enemies are slightly more difficult to defeat. They can also shoot at you, which is where the barricades come into play. Your barricades can also be steadily destroyed by enemy fire, as well as shots that you make which hit them as well.
The game itself is very simple, but that is part of the attraction to it. You can pick up the necessary skills and understanding of the game quickly, allowing you to fully engage with the concept of the game.

Did you Get Any New Games for Christmas?
Posted on January 29, 2013 at 4:02 pm
For gamers, Christmas presents a wonderful opportunity to catch up with all of the latest releases. With amazing games like borderlands 2 having been released over the last few months, having a week or two off work or school allows you to spend a large portion of your time grinding through some of the games titles that you always meant to play, but perhaps didn’t have a full opportunity to do so. With the added benefit of gift giving, you can also get your friends and family to contribute to your hobby by giving them to you as gifts!
Another few games you may want to check out would include the new patch for World of Warcraft, World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria, Resident Evil 6, and, of course, Assassins Creed 3. There is a great variety of games which have been released for the Christmas period, available for PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii, and PC, so hopefully you found something to your liking, and had a wonderful holiday!

World of Warcraft
Posted on January 27, 2013 at 4:02 pm
World of Warcraft: One of the most prolific, popular, and profitable games of the twenty first century. It has gone through a large number of metamorphisms over its life. Blizzard will tell you that it is to make sure that the game is on the cutting edge of the technology, and that it is a necessary move in order to maintain the security of their position within the market. It has left a negative impression among a large portion of its committed membership, with many of them turning away from the franchise, or opting to play a classic version of the game.
While WOW wasn’t the most original game ever created, the value that it offered to those who played the game was clear. Many people have spent a large portion of their life playing the game, as even if you’ve already accomplished most of the tasks and quests in the game, there is still so much you can do. You can focus on trying to improve your characters equipment, you can try to earn as much as possible, or you can commit to a guild, and try to work your way to the top of the rankings.

PS4 – Release Date
Posted on January 21, 2013 at 4:02 pm
The release date of the PS4 is still set to be announced, but it is beginning to look like it will be released, either towards the end of 2013, or at the beginning of 2014. We know this, because many of the games titles set to be released on the PS4 have announced their release date, and that seems to be in line with that time period. Unfortunately, it looks like the release date of the console will be later for the UK than it will be for USA and Japan. This may mean a release here of as much as one month later than in the previously mentioned countries.
While we are waiting for the release of the new console, we can certainly speculate on the nature of the console. Just like with the current generation of consoles, it will be in direct competition with the Xbox model, so there will have to be some differences between the two. We can, of course, expect to see an improvement in both the quality of world-building and graphics in the game.

Continuing With Your PS2
Posted on January 19, 2013 at 4:02 pm
When the new generation games consoles were released, a lot of people decided to put away their old consoles, and focus exclusively on the games which you can play on the new consoles; with their better graphics, and more extensive, and more interactive, worlds. While there is a lot to be said about how good these games are, it shouldn’t mean that you can no longer play some of your old favourites from the previous game generation.
While it is easier to play PS2 games on a PS2 console, there are backwards compatible PS3’s available. By using one of these, you can play an older generation game on your new console, but it is a bit more complicated than playing them on your PS2. Most of the older models of the PS3 come with this capability, but more recently this function has been discontinued, so that Sony can cut back on some of their production costs.

Modern Warfare – Black Ops
Posted on January 7, 2013 at 1:00 pm
The game takes place during the 1960’s, and is based around conflicts during the cold war. Modern Warfare Black Ops has become one of the most widely played games on both the Xbox 360 and PS3, largely due to its multi-player, online gaming option. The way that the multi-player works is by having two opposing teams each with a set mission. This could be a Team death match, or a capture the flag mission, but either way, the goal of the mission is to beat your opponent to the goal, or score more points.
The game-play operates through various well used styles. You can only hold a certain number of grenades, but they are divided by different types of grenades, like explosion grenades, or flash bangs. You can only carry two guns at once, so it is important that you make good choices about the type of guns you pick up. You can get ammo and weapons from enemies which you kill, in both the single-player and multi-player versions of the game. You also get a knife, which is excellent for use in close combat.
